Erin Hoover’s debut poetry collection, Barnburner (Elixir Press), has been honored with a 2018 Florida Book Award in Poetry. Erin’s poems have appeared in the 2016 edition of The Best American Poetry, and recently in Alaska Quarterly Review, Pleiades, and Tampa Review.

Erin teaches creative writing at Hendrix College as the Murphy Visiting Fellow in Poetry. She holds a Ph.D. from Florida State University, an M.F.A. from University of Oregon, and a B.A. from Sarah Lawrence College.

In addition to teaching, Erin has volunteered extensively, for The Southeast Review (editor in chief), VIDA: Women in Literary Arts (lead PR advisor), Writers Resist/Write Our Democracy (PR advisor), and Late Night Library (co-founder).  She currently lives in Arkansas but was born and raised in central Pennsylvania.
